Director, UK Economist – London
A top global investment bank is seeking a first-class UK Economist to join their team in London, reporting directly to the Chief UK Economist. The successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the UK and European Economic Research Team. He/she will work in partnership with research colleagues, members of business and external clients. The responsibilities will include conducting highest-quality, rigorous and insightful economic research and forecasting; providing in-depth analysis of evolving economic and policy events for the firm’s traders, sales force and external clients. The UK Economist will advise clients on relevant economic topics/themes and possible implications for their business; and provide oversight to research assistants. He/she will frequently publish research articles on topics relating to the UK economy and economic policy. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in macro-economic analysis derived from a central bank, finance ministry, multi-lateral (e.g. IMF, World Bank, etc.) or top academic/research institution; a minimum of four years relevant economic analysis and forecasting skills (UK fiscal/monetary policy analysis would be desirable but not a necessity); and rigorous approach to research. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication abilities; strong client-facing skills; ability to effectively partner with members of business and research teams and holds a graduate degree in economics from a top university (PhD preferred). He/she will be a consummate team-player; with a strong analytical/technical background and possess the highest level of ethics and integrity.

Managing Director, Chief China Economist – Hong Kong
A top global investment bank is seeking a first-class Chief China Economist to join their team in Hong Kong, reporting directly to the Head of Emerging Asia Research Team. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded Emerging Asia Research Team in a key position and will work closely with other members of the Research Team, as well as advising sales and trading. The responsibilities will include conducting highest quality, rigorous and insightful China economic research and forecasting; driving the firm's views on the Chinese (and Hong Kong) economy and its implications for fixed income, currency and commodity markets. He/she will advise senior business managers (trading, sales and banking) regarding structural changes in the financial markets and the possible implications for the business; and participate in client presentations working closely with the sales force. The Chief China Economist will frequently interact with internal and external clients as well as policy makers, focus on longer-term macro trends that may affect asset valuations as well as local resolutions; manage a team of economists and effectively partner with members of the Economics and Strategy team. In addition, he/she will provide input and direction on Chinese policy meetings and author/publish daily commentary, quarterly pieces and specific topical research. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on Chinese economic issues derived from the private sector, government, academic or multi-lateral organizations; substantial and relevant Chinese economic analysis and forecasting experience; well versed with macro economic drivers of China: inflation, growth and monetary exchange rate policy coupled with access/creditability with senior China policy makers. He/she will have a rigorous, innovative approach to research and strong commercial acumen; excellent written and verbal (English and Mandarin) communication skills; strong client-facing skills and graduate academic training from a top university (PhD preferred). Senior G-10 FX Strategist - Singapore
A top global investment bank is seeking a first-class Senior G-10 FX Strategist to join their team in Singapore reporting directly to the Head of Emerging Asia Research. The successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the firm’s G-10 FX Research and Emerging Asia Research team. Locally he/she will be part of a 3-person Australia and New Zealand focused team working closely with a Fixed Income Strategist and an Economist.
The responsibilities will include conducting highest-quality, rigorous and insightful FX research; articulating the team’s views on G-10 currencies as well as providing his/her perspective on G-10 FX relevant developments breaking during the Asia day; formulating the firm’s view on AUD and NZD, providing forecasts and strategies in both cash and option space; authoring research publications, contributing to other publications of the team and producing topical theme driven research notes. He/she will advise external clients (institutional investor and hedge funds), senior business managers (trading, sales and banking) regarding profitable trading strategies, relevant macro-economic topics and possible implications for the business.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record within G-10 FX strategy, strong client facing skills, rigorous/innovative approach to research, excellent communication skills and ability to effectively partner with members of the business and research teams.
